It’s Up!

Wednesday, December 5th, 2007

We finally got our tree tonight and it’s all up and looking purty.

Squid had so much fun (all wide-eyed and smiling) looking at the lights. I still have to put on the ornaments, but I got the garland up. It looks crazy and awesome. Pics to come soon!

Swap Complete!

Wednesday, December 5th, 2007

I finished my Xmas Swap hosted by Much More Than A Mom! I sent off my package on Monday and I already received mine from Fenicle! Yay, I love swapping. That sounds nasty, by the way, but swapping rules. It is so fun. You get to send off a cute care package to a random person and in return you get one full of all sorts of wonderful things you don’t need. Love. It.

Tonight, NO REALLY!

Wednesday, December 5th, 2007

We are finally going to get a tree tonight. It seems like we are the last people on Earth to do so! I know that we are still very early, it’s just that I’m used to getting ours the day after Thanksgiving, so waiting this long is like torture. Yay, I’m excited!

Six Xmas Boxes Is Four Too Many

Tuesday, December 4th, 2007

I just dug out all the Christmas decorations from our shed. SIX boxes!

What the frig. Six boxes is (at least) four too many. I mean, I’m all for keeping and cherishing the old Christmas ornaments and stockings from my childhood and everything, but this year I’m dumping all the other crap. No, really. I like Christmas, but not enough to fill 6 boxes.

Still Without A Tree

Wednesday, November 28th, 2007

The new plan is to pick up a Xmas tree this Sunday.

I hope by then the weather changes. It’s kind of hard to get into the Xmas spirit when it’s 70 degrees outside…sunny, no wind and blue skies.

This sucks. I want rain and gloom! I want to not feel guilty about staying inside and drinking cocoa. When it’s like this, you can’t do those things and NOT feel like an idiot.

P.S.

Okay, I couldn’t resist this. Yeah, yeah, I’m all for the happy Thanksgiving and the joyous atmosphere of family and friends. And, most of all, I think this time of year is wonderful for remembering that we SHOULD be thankful. But let’s not hide the truth. It took blood and guts (of innocent Native peoples) to get here.

On this day, please remember them. And give thanks for Peace.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thursday, November 22nd, 2007

So, turns out I do have a little time this morning before we head off to eat and drink the day away.

Drive safely out there, please. I saw two accidents yesterday - both involving 3 cars. People are nutty right now, so protect yourself and your families!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Preemptive Happy Thanksgiving

Wednesday, November 21st, 2007

In case I don’t get around to saying it tomorrow, Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I hope you remember only the good things about this holiday and realize that giving thanks should happen everyday. Also, wear comfortable clothes. There is nothing worse than being stuck in tight slacks or some ridiculous skirt after you’ve eaten all that food.
