Clean Up

Friday, December 28th, 2007

I’m considering starting to (as a friend of mine says…) “de-Christmas” today. Usually I’d wait until after the New Year, but the tree and everything else is now just looking messy and…well, kind of gross. I guess I’m just ready to move on!

The Morning After

Wednesday, December 26th, 2007

How sick are you today? The fudge and lasagna, brownies, cookies and meatballs is catching up to me. So, today is all about salad and lots and lots of water. That whole detox thing I was talking about? Yeah, that.

All Damn Day

Sunday, December 23rd, 2007

I must have spent about 7 hours today wrapping gifts, packing gifts, addressing gifts and finishing up last minute details on my home-made gifts. My eyes are stinging and I already popped 3 Motrin. So glad that’s all done, though. Usually I would wait until Xmas Eve to wrap all my gifts (at least all those for my immediate family), and end up staying up till 2AM. Now I can actually get some good sleep tomorrow night - all I have to do is just place everything under the tree! I’m so excited, even though I’m dead tired right now. Oh, and the three or four or a hundred fights Jason and I got into today didn’t really help. Oh, well, tomorrow is another day. The BEST day.

I Caved

Saturday, December 22nd, 2007

We met my brother and his fiance at the mall today for lunch and I totally caved. I think you know what I’m talking about.

Santa!

Yes, we waited in line like all the other idiots and placed our poor baby upon Santa’s lap.

The picture is hilarious. I’m going to scan it in sometime over the nest couple of days and you all can see for yourself.

Keep ‘Em Comin’!

Don’t you love getting Christmas packages in the mail? You know that sound they make as the FedEx guy drops the big cardboard box over your gate? I love it!

Gotta Go

Thursday, December 20th, 2007

Last night we went to my stepson’s Christmas performance. It was great, but it’s just funny how every year it seems to get longer and longer. More songs, more lines, more prayers, more messages. Squid was loving it, rocking out to all the music. Then, as the night progressed and it started getting a little monotonous, Squid leaned back on me and uttered, “Ga-go.” I took that to mean, “Gotta go.”

“I hear you, baby.”

It finally wrapped up around 9 pm. Now the race is on. I have 4 days to finish knitting, sewing, wrapping and buying.

Scary.

Countdown

Seriously? Is Christmas really less than two weeks away? How?

Time For The Chipmunks

Sunday, December 9th, 2007

Every Xmas I pull out my Chipmunks record. It’s a must. Did you know there is a song on that record that Molly Ringwald sings? She must be like 12 years old. Anyway, it’s my favorite Xmas music to listen to. That and Elvis’s Xmas, which I can’t find because Squid hid it somewhere.
