I started this project three days ago and I’m already almost done! I’ve been so bad with my knitting lately. I just go through these phases. One month I’m totally into it, and the next, I’m bored.

But how cute is this?! And so perfect for my littlest Squido!

I can’t wait to give it to him. I’ll post pictures when it’s complete.

I just found a beat up old vanity on the side of the road. It’s really cute, too. It has a little oval mirror and it’s perfect for a little girl - the kind I would have loved to have when I was a kid. It’s not in too bad of shape, either. One leg is kind of falling off and it’s dirty, but I think I can get it to look really nice. Yay, project!

So, I spent today working on Squid’s birthday present with my dad.

It was really fun. We sanded this old, varnished rocking horse I found at a garage sale. It really did look pretty tacky. But we got all the stain off and painted it with milk paint. It looks awesome. I’m so excited to give it to my boy! I’ll post pictures soon.

I thought I’d get back into my knitting projects this weekend. I got a little discouraged, though, since I have so many other things I need to get done. Even though I know I am accomplishing something when knitting, I find it hard to sit still and do it during the day. It’s sort of a night-only activity, when I don’t feel so bad about taking a permanent spot on the couch. Plus, then I have something to do while watching my DVR-ed shows. So, I guess I’ll wait. I have so many things I want to make. Maybe I should make it my goal to at least do some knitting every time I sit down to watch T.V. I think I would get a lot done that way. My “Crafty in ‘08″ goals are definitely not being met. I’ve got to change that.

I just remembered I have three days now to finish my stepson’s poncho. Ouch. I am crazy sick right now, though, so if I don’t get it done, at least I have an excuse. But, really, I need to get it done. It was supposed to be done by Christmas, and before that…last summer. He’ll think I am the biggest loser if I don’t have it by Tuesday! And I can’t have that.

The other day we were driving around and Fergie’s “Big Girls Don’t Cry” came on the radio. i thought for sure Jason would yell out, “EICH” and change the station. But he kind of started nodding his head to the beat! I swear…things are really starting to change this year. First, I am thinking of buying Uggs and now Jason likes Fergie? “It’s got a good hook!” he whined when I called him on it. Yeah, yeah.

I just remembered that I vowed to keep up with it and record all the crafty things (i.e. knitting) I do this year.

Right now I can’t even think about picking up needles. I’m so sick of it, having knitted like a madwoman the entire month before Christmas. Hopefully I’ll get the urge back, though. I think a trip to the yarn store will help. Buying new things always seems to motivate me…. ;)

I found out that if I knit with 2 strands held together, my projects go way faster! It only works for certain patterns, and luckily what I’m doing it’s perfect for. I’m so happy because I am seriously behind.
