Frustration

Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

You know what’s weird…I’m always a few pounds heavier after my workout than I am when I wake up in the morning. I guess it’s just because I drink a lot of water during and after, plus my muscles are all hard and tight by the time I’m through with bootcamp. But it still sucks!

Sitting Up

Wednesday, March 12th, 2008

Last night I started doing situps again. It’s been a while since I’ve committed to doing them, and I thought it was no big deal until I actually tried. Wow. Turns out situps are pretty hard. Anyway, I grimaced through 250 of them. Tonight? I’m gonna go for the gold. That’s right. 500 big ones. Think I can?

Eagerly Awaiting Noni!

Saturday, March 8th, 2008

I mentioned before that my mom is coming to see us today. It’s gonna be a while before she gets here, but I’ve already got the kids all excited. Big mistake. Now I get to hear, “When’s Noni coming?” for the next 2 hours. (Exhale)

Friday. Awesome.

Friday, March 7th, 2008

This week was a long one. I’m so glad tomorrow is going to be mellow. I don’t really want to go anywhere, just hang at home. My mom will be here, so it’ll be a nice, relaxing day. Finally.

A Better Life

Monday, March 3rd, 2008

MedAcademy is an informative sight spotlighting the Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts’ Vocational Nursing Program, Licensed Vocational Nurse and LVN programs.

Nursing is a rewarding and stable career (hospitals, individuals and private health care facilities are always going to need nurses). I had a friend who had worked in retail for years before she decided to make a change in her life. She was a single mom and worried that she wouldn’t have time to work and take nursing classes. But she knew she didn’t want to work retail all her life, especially as her daughter was getting older. She wanted to be a good influence and role model, as well as make more money and have a real career.

Going back to school while trying to make a living and raising a child is hard. I didn’t even know how difficult she had it (I was childless back then!), but now I have even more respect for her and all the hard work she put into creating the life she wanted for herself and for her child. And not only that, at the end of her schooling, she had a great job that made her feel excited about going to work each day.

If you’re interested in nursing, check out the MedAcademy sight or do a search for a local program in your area. It might be the best move you ever make.

Meant To Do

Wednesday, February 27th, 2008

Instead of writing up To-Do Lists, I think I’ll start a new trend. The “Meant To-Do” list.

Then it’s not like I’m failing everyday.

Confession

Thursday, February 21st, 2008

I’m not into The Real World or Road Rules. But what I AM into…

The Gauntlet.

It’s ridiculous, really, because it’s all these people from the two shows I hate the most. But I guess it’s kind of like how double negatives work.

Hot Burnin’

Saturday, February 9th, 2008

I just remembered that my stepson, when he was about 5 (around the time I met him), used to say “hot burnin’” instead of “burnin’ hot.”

Not that that has anything to do with anything except that today was hot burnin’. It was so warm that I got a little sunburn when I went out for a jog.

I also got a cramp in my leg. Another random fact.

Happy Saturday!
