MedAcademy is an informative sight spotlighting the Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts’ Vocational Nursing Program, Licensed Vocational Nurse and LVN programs.
Nursing is a rewarding and stable career (hospitals, individuals and private health care facilities are always going to need nurses). I had a friend who had worked in retail for years before she decided to make a change in her life. She was a single mom and worried that she wouldn’t have time to work and take nursing classes. But she knew she didn’t want to work retail all her life, especially as her daughter was getting older. She wanted to be a good influence and role model, as well as make more money and have a real career.
Going back to school while trying to make a living and raising a child is hard. I didn’t even know how difficult she had it (I was childless back then!), but now I have even more respect for her and all the hard work she put into creating the life she wanted for herself and for her child. And not only that, at the end of her schooling, she had a great job that made her feel excited about going to work each day.
If you’re interested in nursing, check out the MedAcademy sight or do a search for a local program in your area. It might be the best move you ever make.
