Free Stuff Is Awesome

Wednesday, January 30th, 2008

I’m on a FREE kick. I love doing the giveaways. I might make it a regular thing, actually. It’s totally fun. Anyway, I’m not personally giving this away, but since I just got a new phone, I’ve been totally messing around with it everyday and today I found this site with FREE cingular ringtones! Was that a totally long and convoluted sentence? Yes. Yes, it was. But, to the point! FREE! Go check it out.

Saturday, January 19th, 2008

Lately I’ve been consumed with trying to get all my computer stuff in order: documents, music, etc. I have everything all over the place (my old laptop, my new, our external hard drive, my phone…) and I worry that stuff will get deleted or lost if I don’t know exactly where it all is! Neurotic? Maybe. Fast-teks offers a full range of IT solutions to meet your entire home and business needs. They can recover deleted files, too! If you do have that problem, visit their website. Their highly trained staff provides professional, high-quality service at affordable rates in the comfort and convenience of your business or residential location.

Attack!

Thursday, January 17th, 2008

Packet Analytics is a new company that provides tools and solutions to enterprises that dramatically increase the security of their networks. It’s called Network Forensic Search Engine (Net/FSE). Net/FSE employs proprietary indexing and search technology licensed exclusively from Los Alamos National Laboratory where it has been battle tested for five years. The program allows network security analysts to respond rapidly to intrusions by analyzing terabytes of NetFlow router data in real-time. Users can download this software for free and search their netflow data as it is processed in the event of a network breach. This is the only real-time netflow data security product on the market today. The idea of network attack forensics may be foreign to you, but it may save you from losing valuable work and data. Check out the Net/FSE site for more information and to get started today.

Please Save My Plants

Friday, January 11th, 2008

I have two palm-looking, potted plants I bought off a guy down the street who recently moved out of the neighborhood. His instructions were to keep them inside, water every week or so and keep them out of the sun.

At Christmastime, we didn’t have enough room to keep them in, so we had them out on our porch. They started to die a little, but were still green. Then, when we got rid of the Xmas tree, we brought them in. I’ve been watering them a few times a week, only because we have had our heater running and it’s been pretty dry in here. They are next to the window, but it’s not like it’s been sunny. And they are still looking bad, worse even!

The tips of the leaves are all yellow and brown. What do I do?

Soggy Weekend

Thursday, January 10th, 2008

Not looking forward to a soggy weekend. I’ve been so lazy lately. And worst of all, we now have ants in our kitchen because of all the rain. Not nice.

A Note On Coffee

Wednesday, January 2nd, 2008

Because I am now on my second cup, I have to say…

I always buy expensive coffee, whether it is Seattle’s Best or Peet’s or whatever. But the other day I was at Walgreen’s and I thought, just for the sake of saving $10, I’d go for the pre-ground Folgers!

I know what you are thinking. Well, maybe not. Maybe you’re thinking that was a smart choice and maybe you are thinking, “Ew!”

If you’re thinking the former, then you’re right. I thought “Ew” at first, but it is so good and has been consistently so for over a week. Plus it’s like a quarter of the price of the expensive stuff. Nice.

Trash Overload

Tuesday, January 1st, 2008

Because of the holiday, our trash didn’t get picked up. Thankfully, they are coming today. The stupid gross bins have been stinking up our garage for over a week. Not to mention they are overflowing from all the residual Xmas wrapping/garbage. We used to keep them outside until one of our snoopy, stuck up neighbors complained! I guess there is some dumb law against keeping your bins out where people can actually see them, as if they are a major eyesore. Seriously dumb. People really have nothing better to do than tell on us because of our garbage bins? If only I knew who it was…
