For Realsies

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

Okay, for realsies this time. I started the Colon Cleanse I’ve been stalling on for the past month or so. It was really hard every time I tried it because it seemed like every day there was some sort of “event” happening that involved really good food and being around lots of people who were eating that really good food. It was torture. But this week is perfect. Actually, Jason is having surgery to fix his deviated septum and make it a whole lot easier for him to breath (and easier for me to sleep since I won’t have to listen to him snore!), and he’s gonna be basically couped up on the couch, sleeping and sipping soup, all weekend. So, it’s a perfect opportunity for me to successfully get through this cleanse. I won’t have to cook any crazy dinners or go anywhere where temptation will ruin me! So far today I’ve done really well, and I actually feel amazing! Just one day of cleansing has made my skin feel really smooth and my eyes look brighter. I’ve gone pee a lot, but so far no crazy “cleansing” BMs. Is that too much information? Oh well. Nothing is sacred with me. Wish me luck!
Nice pic, huh? :)

Mother’s Day Begins Today

Friday, May 9th, 2008

‘Cuz it’s Mother’s Weekend. At least it should be. So, I think we’re starting tonight by going to dinner. At least that’s what Jason suggested last night. And tomorrow I get the full blown celebration, since my stepson has to leave us Saturday night. Then Sunday is the actual day, so I get to extend the special treatment all the way through the weekend. Yay! Happy Mother’s Day Weekend everyone!

Dreading The Doctor

Tuesday, May 6th, 2008

Oh man. I have a doctor’s appointment on Friday. I’m kind of dreading it. I just don’t like going to the doctor, but as soon as I go, I always feel better. It’s just a basic check up, but you know…just having to get ready for it and go get examined…it’s so uncomfortable! But anyway, I really do have to say something really quick about Kaiser Medical Center. I love it! Everyone is so nice, so if I absolutely have to go to the doctor, at least I know that I won’t totally hate the experience. I really love taking Squid, actually. The pediatrics department is awesome. It’s so cute - all the Chinese nurses call me “Mommy” and there is a huge area with toys and books that Squid loves playing in. He goes up to all the kids and says, “Hi, baby!” even if the kids are much older than he is. Ha.

Up At 6

Tuesday, May 6th, 2008

I was finally able to get up at 6 this morning and go to the gym. I took a little break, mainly because I have been going to bed so late and can not even move my body at 6 am.

But, last night I told myself that the gym is more important than watching House Hunters International and fell into bed at 10:30. And this morning, it paid off. I worked out for an hour. What’s sad, though, is that I totally noticed the time I took off. I’ve got to get back into the regular routine now so I don’t take any more steps backward.

Cero!

Friday, April 25th, 2008

That’s Squid’s new way of saying he wants “cereal.”

I hate buying the sugary shit, so I try to just get anything healthy. I tried Mini Wheats, but he didn’t go for them. Then I noticed the new Strawberry Delight Mini Wheats on the shelf. Not something I would personally eat, but I thought he might like them.

So, anyway, late last night while Jason and I were watching Walk Hard (very freaking funny, by the way…), I got the munchies. I wanted cero! All we had was the strawberry Mini Wheats. Arg! I decided to try it.

Two bowls later…

Oh my Christ, they are so good!

Cleanse, Schmlense

Thursday, April 24th, 2008

I have so cheated on my cleanse. Much More Than a Mom was right…the first two days are a bitch.

And I’m also blaming my non-success on the fact that there’s been a lot of “stuff” going on lately. Lots of dinners and different events and crap. Yeah, yeah. I know it’s lame.

So, here’s the deal. I’m gonna start on Sunday. Seriously, though! I figure that’s the best day to tackle this because I don’t have to do any cooking (besides meals for the babe) and I don’t have to shop. It’s the temptation that kills me.

Cleansing Time

Wednesday, April 16th, 2008

I’m doing a “cleanse” with Much More Than a Mom. Well, we’re both doing it separately and are going to be whining about it on our blogs.

I’ve heard about these before, but this is my first.

Here’s one I’ll eventually get to. It’s called Dual-Action Cleanse and it’s an Herbal Cleanser that rejuvenates your body.

The idea behind a colon cleanse is to eliminate the toxins which have built up in your digestive system. The detoxification processes of a colon cleanser treatment are so important to maintaining a healthy balance in your body that many doctors consider it to be a key to personal wellness.

Yeah, you lose weight while you do it, but that’s not really the point. The point is to get your body regulated and to promote better health. Anyway, I expect to be a little hungry and probably a bit grumpy over the next week, but I think, ultimately, I will end up feeling so much better!

Kinda Sorta

Wednesday, April 16th, 2008

Well, I didn’t make my 6 am exercise class, but I did make it to the gym by 7 and worked out for about 45 minutes. So, I kinda sorta made my goal. As long as I go, I feel good.
