Win Something Cool

Thursday, May 15th, 2008

Literary Illusions is hosting a giveaway right now that you will most definitely be interested in if you have any kids over the age of 5 in your house. I’m not telling you what it is. You’ll have to go see for yourself. Good luck!

I Actually Do Have Limits…I Think

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

So, maybe nothing is sacred with me. But at least I don’t talk about vaginal relaxation in public. No, seriously, I was with a…let’s just say…random group of people this weekend and one particular lady (no way I’m naming names! There actually are some sacred things in this life!) started going in to how she had surgery to correct her rather lazy vagina. I’ve talked about this procedure on my blog before, mainly because it’s a mom and baby-oriented blog and it’s a fact that giving birth stretches your junk. So what? I’m not scared of it. I mean, I wouldn’t announce it in public, but I’m not afraid to address the subject. It’s part of human nature. And, inevitable, as you get older, your body changes. You think your face is the only thing to be affected by gravity? ;)

Heat Wave

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

The news is saying that tomorrow is going to be incredibly hot. Great. I’m not a real huge fan of hot weather unless I’m on vacation somewhere I can spend all day in a pool. Plus Squid has this heat rash on his arm that is probably going to get a lot worse. Yay.

For Realsies

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

Okay, for realsies this time. I started the Colon Cleanse I’ve been stalling on for the past month or so. It was really hard every time I tried it because it seemed like every day there was some sort of “event” happening that involved really good food and being around lots of people who were eating that really good food. It was torture. But this week is perfect. Actually, Jason is having surgery to fix his deviated septum and make it a whole lot easier for him to breath (and easier for me to sleep since I won’t have to listen to him snore!), and he’s gonna be basically couped up on the couch, sleeping and sipping soup, all weekend. So, it’s a perfect opportunity for me to successfully get through this cleanse. I won’t have to cook any crazy dinners or go anywhere where temptation will ruin me! So far today I’ve done really well, and I actually feel amazing! Just one day of cleansing has made my skin feel really smooth and my eyes look brighter. I’ve gone pee a lot, but so far no crazy “cleansing” BMs. Is that too much information? Oh well. Nothing is sacred with me. Wish me luck!
Nice pic, huh? :)

Blah

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

Blah. This day is going really slow. Is American Idol on yet? Actually, is it over yet? Talk about blah.

Give Back

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

Do something good this summer. PSI World is a nonprofit organization committed to leaving this universe better than we found it. They contribute to Youth at Risk programs by educating individuals and groups on the importance of giving back to their communities. In addition, they lend their time and services to help ailing and disadvantaged people, and are a prominent organization in the cancer fight, helping the American Cancer Society continue their research efforts. You can get involved by signing up for PSI Seminars online. It’s a wonderful way to volunteer and make a difference.

Play Time

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

Last night was our first “free play” class at Gymboree. But tonight is our first official organized class with the teacher and all. I’m really curious to see how it’s going to go. Squid loved playing around last night and after an hour, he was yawning. He also slept in, so I think I’m on to something here…

The Big Sweep

Monday, May 12th, 2008

It’s that time again…Squid’s clothes are getting small and short and it turns out wearing crop tops and floods isn’t so cute on a 2 year old boy. I decided to do four different things with all his old clothes. One: I gave a bunch to a friend of a friend who has an 11-month old baby boy. He’ll grow into the stuff pretty quick since he’s a good sized little peanut. Two: I took a bunch to my favorite kid’s consignment shop in the city. Three: I’m selling some of it on eBay. Yeah, I’ve got that much of it. And I actually enjoy selling stuff on eBay. (P.S. If you don’t, find one of those iSold It stores and they’ll do the work for you.) And Four: Keeping the really, really special and memorable outfits. If I could, I’d keep everything, but I can’t. It’s just not possible. It used to break my heart a bit when I had to get rid of Squid’s clothes, but now I’m more practical. I understand that I CANNOT be one of those pack rat moms. ‘Cuz that’s just weird. And a teensy bit creepy.
