Back Blues

Tuesday, February 26th, 2008

My back has started hurting again. I had an injury when Squid was around 6 months old, and I’m starting to feel the pain again. I’m not careful enough when picking him up and spinning him around, dancing like a maniac and swinging him through my legs. I’m just not. But it’s not like I can stop doing those things! I just need to be more conscientious, I suppose. Either that or go to the doc for some more Vicodin. ;)

Preggo?

Monday, February 25th, 2008

When I first started this blog, I talked about great places to get certain looks for moms and their babies. When you spend around half a year wearing maternity wear, you want to know how you can get back into the swing of things. That is, if you are completely clueless like I was. I didn’t wear cute maternity clothes. I wore big shirts that made me look even bigger. I wore gross, cheap pants that I hated but that I thought I had to wear because I was too big for anything normal. It was pretty bad. All I have to say is that the next time around, I’m gonna be the hot pregnant girl you see with the cute maternity jeans and boots, and cute layers and cozy knit sweaters! You’ll see… ;)

The fact of the matter is that pregnant women no longer need to wear the yucky, oversized, blousy maternity wear of yore. But you gotta get out there. You gotta check out the stores and the online sites and really keep style as well as comfort in mind. You CAN have both. I know that now. Here’s a tip: Try Due Maternity. There’s a store that opened up recently near my house that I pass all the time and think…”Oh, if only I knew!” But, again…there’s always next time!

Runway Results

Monday, February 25th, 2008

Oh, I can’t wait to see the finale of Project Runway. As I’ve said before, I really love Chris, but I think Christian deserves to win the most. I haven’t yet developed my “favorites” for Idol. I know who I don’t like, though. I always seem to know who I hate before I know who I love.

My Number One

Monday, February 25th, 2008

I feel very lucky to not have to worry about finding proper child care nursery facilities. One day…yeah, maybe. But at least finding the right places and helpful information is easy with all the online sites dedicated to children’s heath care services, schools, daycares and more. I suppose when the time does come, I’ll be plenty prepared. But, for now? I’m just happy my little guy is home everyday with me. I can’t yet imagine it being any other way. We were at a party the other night and Squid came to me for a hug and put his head on my shoulder. “Enjoy it!” one woman laughed. On one hand, I know what she means. But, on the other, I think that Squid will always feel close to me and want to rest his head on my shoulder when he needs a little extra comfort, and I have the fact that I’m his number one and he is mine to thank for that!

Oscar Made Me A Grouch

Monday, February 25th, 2008

What the hell. We were out at the beach and park last night, so we recorded all the Oscar pre-show crap and the show itself. So, why am I mad? Because Comcast sucks, and because the Oscars went long. Result? The last half hour or so of the show got cut off. Yep. We missed it. I mean, I know now who won (thanks to the Internet), but it was truly disappointing to have gotten through all the other BS, and FINALLY get to the best part only to have Comcast pop up its “DO YOU WISH TO DELETE” message! ARG!

Messy Much?

Sunday, February 24th, 2008

If your babe is like mine and not the greatest of clean eaters, go on over to sassyfrazz and check out her sweet giveaway for a unique (and handy) high-chair bib. Or, you can use a black lawn and leaf bag with cut-out arm and leg holes, but those aren’t really quite as cute. It’s up to you. I’m just saying.

Tired In All The Wrong Places

Thursday, February 21st, 2008

Why am I so tired when I’m out doing errands, but when I come home I’m full of energy? All I could think about today on my way to pick up my stepson was, “I can’t wait to get back home so I can lie on the couch and close my eyes!” But when I got home and got on the couch, I thought of all the things I could do to get up off it. What’s with that?

Confession

Thursday, February 21st, 2008

I’m not into The Real World or Road Rules. But what I AM into…

The Gauntlet.

It’s ridiculous, really, because it’s all these people from the two shows I hate the most. But I guess it’s kind of like how double negatives work.
