Ricky Gervais Is My Hero

Wednesday, December 19th, 2007

I’ve long been a fan of The Office. The British one with Ricky Gervais. But I didn’t get into Extras for whatever reason. Just didn’t watch it. Then, Jason pointed out that the entire series is on On Demand. I watched the entire thing in 3 days. I loved it. Even more so than The Office. I was actually sad when I finished the finale. You know when you wish you could go back in time and just keep watching it as though you’ve never seen it before?! I actually wanted that! All good things must come to an end, though. I just wish he’d do another series real soon. :)

Good Times

Wednesday, December 19th, 2007

We had some friends over last night for champagne and Chinese food. Okay, so Jason and I woke up a bit polluted this morning, but nothing a few bottles of water and a couple gallons of coffee can’t fix. Gotta love the holidays.

The Perfect Penis

Tuesday, December 18th, 2007

Continuing one from my earlier post about circumcision, I want to thank Jessica for sending me these very valuable links:

http://nocircpa.org/4642.html - for myths vs. realities
http://intact.ca/vidintro.htm - for pictures of what really happens when doctors circumcise your child

I can’t stress how cruel of a “proceedure” this is. It is barbaric. Babies are strapped down and sliced open. It’s not right and parents need to wake up about it. I know that many parents don’t agree. Perhaps because they put it in the back of their mind and try not to think about it. But, think about this: would you circumcise your baby girl? Would you have doctors cut off her clitoral hood?

Male circumcision is no different. It is a practice that began in the 1800’s to prevent masturbation because it was believed to be a disease! The body is pure and natural, and whatever its form…it is perfect just the way it is. Your baby is perfect. Don’t try and “fix” him. He isn’t broken.

Finally, Rain

Tuesday, December 18th, 2007

I woke up to the sound of the rain pouring hard in my backyard. Yes! I feel like it’s been ages since it’s rained this hard. I’ve been waiting for it all month and now it’s finally come. Now the Christmas lights and the Egg Nog all seem normal and appropriate, not like my entire house is the set of some holiday play. :)

No Circumcision!

Monday, December 17th, 2007

I don’t know about you, but I am 100% against circumcision. NoCirc.org is a website dedicated to informing parents about the dangers of circumcision and to give them a thorough background on the issue. If you are considering having this done to your child, the best thing to do is to educate yourself. Most people in the United States don’t even know why they have their child circumcised. They do it because their doctor suggests it or because they are pressured into it or because they think that it must be right since so many others do it! It’s not!

Still Smiling (But Not For Long…)

move over

I meant to include this in the batch from the other day, but forgot. How cute is my little buggy in his little buggy? It’s nice to get a smiling shot. These days they are a little more rare than usual. He’s into scowling now (see the Santa Suit pic. from yesterday) What’s up with that?

Still Looking…

Sunday, December 16th, 2007

Since our offer for the house we were looking at got rejected, we’ve been kind of bummed and not that into looking for others. Yes, the house was too small and we are actually glad that our offer didn’t get accepted, but it’s still just so emotionally draining. But now, after taking a few days to decompress, we are back at it. Of course, I will keep you posted, but I probably won’t say anything more until we are physically IN and sitting around in our new living room…

It’s just too hard to get my hopes up only to have them crushed!

Wonderful Weekend

Sunday, December 16th, 2007

So, our date weekend went really well. We saw I Am Legend, walked around downtown, ate candied apples, drank martinis, slept in…it was awesome. And Squid is really starting to warm up to being “sat.” I think he realizes now that it’s way more fun than hanging around with mom!
