Slowly Pull Away From The Curb
We left Squid with my mom overnight on Friday. What I assumed would be 24 hours of pure hell (for him, not us) turned out to be a happy time had by all. Here’s a recap.
Reading grandma’s “To-do” list
C-ya, wouldn’t want to be ya!
This isn’t so bad, afterall, says Squid
Cooling off
Kickin’ it with a soggy dipe
Getting acquainted with the wares
Ready to roll
If you could see me now
On the big bed with brother
Mesmorized
Playing hockey in the neighbors’ yard
And tennis, too…
Taking a break for a bite
Browsing at garage sales
Power-napping
Is that Mom I hear in the driveway?
And…we’re back!
Now that that’s out of the way, I’m totally ready to book our next stay away. Jason and I had so much fun and the crazy part is, we fell right back into that “dating stage” where you remember what it’s like NOT to have kids. I thought I’d be turning my back, going, “Where’s Squid!” or thinking I accidentally left him at a store or the movie theater! But, nope. I was running around town like a kid let loose at a candy store. And the baby…well, he was just fine.

This probably makes me sound like a horrible mom, but I love weekends away w/o the kids…so refreshing! In fact, my mama is keeping my babies this weekend for me and husband’s 7 year anniversary! Woohoo!
Squid looked like he had a blast, too! Loved the soggy diaper pic!

The boys looked like they had a great time, and it sounds like you did, too! We get this Friday night to ourselves and this time, my husband is banished from speaking of the children and work, which he failed to do the last time. Me? I was like “What do you mean? I don’t have kids!”
Yeah for you!
