Bye Bye Formula, Hello Savings
Because Squid turns One in a few days, we started adding whole milk to his formula. And, because I just used the last of his latest can of formula this morning, it looks like it’s wholly whole milk from here on out. Simply put, I refuse to buy another overpriced can of Similac Isomil Advanced Formula! I never even want to see a can of the stuff again. UGH! And when I have a second baby somewhere down the road, it is boob all the way. I will not give up after 3 months because I am tired and cranky. I will breastfeed till my tits fall off if it means saving the hundreds and hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of dollars spend on powder!

I was so happy when I used our last can of formula too. We got ours at Costco so it was a bit cheaper than the brand named stuff but still. Once Harry got his molars in a few weeks after his first birthday he moved to mostly solids pretty quickly and has not had a bottle in forever.

My sister had a little party when she finished the last can of formula. When the time comes, I’m putting these bad girls to work. They are as big as they are for a reason! Actually, I can’t wait to breast feed…although, I’ve heard the horror stories.

Amen. My daughter never would even drink the powder stuff. She finally got sick of nursing around her first birthday. But hey, at least it’s free, right?

That is exactly the reason I chose to breastfeed–I am cheap! How much is a can of formula?–you know, so I can hand my husband an invoice for all of the money I saved him. ;)

SO TRUE!! Just make sure you supply LOTS of juice, cuz my kids got constipated the first few weeks after the “big move” to whole milk only. Congrats!

hahahaaa! as a nursing momma i will say yes, it is less expensive…kinda…until those bills for the reconstructive surgery come in. I’m telling ya, my bosom after nursing this last one will be worse than two flapjacks nailed to the wall.
